After the first round staged in Australia, the WorldSBK paddock returns to Europe to tackle the Pirelli Catalunya Round at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya. After his stunning WorldSBK debut with a win in Race 1 at Phillip Island, Nicolò Bulega proved to be in great shape at the Catalan circuit by finishing on top during last week's two-day testing. Alvaro Bautista, fresh from six consecutive victories at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, arrives at the second round of the 2024 season aware that he has now overcome the after-effects of the injury sustained in last winter's Jerez test. Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati #1) "This weekend will be a little more normal than Australia's. It's clear that we've been very fast on this track in the previous two seasons but it's also true that in recent tests the sensations have not been the best. Fortunately, I feel almost one hundred per cent in terms of physical condition and that will be an important starting point. Now I just have to find the right feeling again. It's going to be a tough round anyway, with so many riders who have already shown that they are going fast. Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati #11) "The weekend in Australia was extraordinary, probably above our expectations. At the same time, though, I can say that the feeling with the bike and the team has been excellent since the first tests and it was confirmed a few days ago on this circuit. Confidence is high ahead of the Barcelona round even though the competition will be very strong. Our goal is to continue making small steps forward, session after session, and we will only take stock of the weekend after Race-2."
WorldSSP It will also be a Home Gp for Adrian Huertas, who will ride the Ducati Panigale V2 of the Aruba.it Racing WSSP team for the first time at the Circuito de Barcelona Catalunya. Adrian Huertas (Aruba.it Racing WSSP #99) "I am very happy to return to Europe and obviously to Spain. Motivation and confidence are very high. I can't wait to get on track to get that result that we missed in Australia."
